Newspaper
El Hormigón Armado Newspaper is a bimonthly publication of 5,000 copies per issue sold in the city of La Paz by between 30 and 40 shoe shiners and young street workers. At 5bs per issue, 80% of the sale goes to the seller who assumes the commitments of the project such as participating in weekly workshops. 20% of the cost is for the management and administration of the different programs of Hormigón Armado, such as health and/or school support. This year 2023 we have started with the number 88. The newspaper is a window for society into the lives of shoe shiners, street and working children and youth who contribute much of its content. It is published on relevant topics to this population, to human rights and, in particular, to the rights and problems of street and working children and adolescents. The objective is to promote their protection by society so that work does not become exploitation and does not threaten their dignity and adequate development.
Our content also spreads respect for the environment and promotes art and culture, supporting local demonstrators. We are very proud to have received several awards and recognition for our publication as well as having published great national and foreign artists and works. These include previously unpublished works by Jaime Saenz, Oscar Cerruto, Alison Spedding, Manu Chao, Ukamau y ke, Salvador Kalavera and many more.

HEROS DE BRILLOS
In September 2018, the 70th issue of Periódico Hormigón Armado came out with a special bet as an anniversary and round issue (70). It was a comic style photobook by the Uruguayan artist/photographer Federico Estol together with Colectivo Hormigón Armado. This issue was undoubtedly a very important milestone in the life of the Periódico, for its originality and the response it received from the public. Originality and the response it had in our environment, which is where it was sold and moved from hands, as well as at the international level.
Three years later, we decided to once again take to the streets this fabulous book, which continues to be in force and to receive mentions and awards... but above all, making known the daily struggle of our Heroes of the Shine.
