OBJECTIVE:

To raise funds for the printing, in November of this year, of the special 100th issue of the Hormigón Armado newspaper. This initiative is based on the conviction that this issue, as a milestone of the H.A. project, must be special and symbolic. For this reason, we assume that the printing costs will be significant, well above the usual printing cost of the newspaper.

FUNDRAISING ACTIONS AND METHODS:

  1. Advertising sales: On this page we present our rates for advertising in the Hormigón Armado newspaper.

  2. Sponsorships: Sponsor an article or simply a portion of the newspaper’s printing costs.

  3. Fundraising event: A fundraising event for issue #100 of Hormigón Armado will be organized in the coming months.

What / how will the 100th issue of the Hormigón Armado newspaper be?

That question is still unanswered, and we are open to ideas and suggestions.
This special – revolutionary – issue can take many forms: from a visual experience like Héroes del Brillo, to something more institutional like a retrospective or a memory archive... There are many possibilities, although time is limited. Therefore, we invite the entire community to be part of this creative process with ideas and all kinds of contributions. The Hormigón Armado newspaper #100 is closer than ever!

About the cover of issue #98 – Sergio Irazoque – IRA Photography

I met Chino (Jorge Luis Márquez Romero) on a Saturday in December 2013, when I was just starting to take pictures of the boys from Hormigón Armado. We arranged to meet the following Wednesday in Parque Triangular for his “official” portrait. He didn’t show up—I thought, “he must be working.” Later, I found out that the day after I took this photo, after watching a Bolívar match (he was a huge Bolívar fan), in the rain and cold, Chinito died of hypothermia at just 17 years old. H°A° managed to secure a space for our friend at the General Cemetery, where he was buried on December 25, 2013. I went to leave him a printed copy of this unofficial portrait I had taken that Saturday.
I wish I had gotten to know him better…
